Everything's going well. The invitations are sent. The venue's booked. You've picked out the dress. But what to do about those stubborn extra pounds?
This is a major milestone in your life, and and it is important that you look great and feel good. Still, months of planning and organising can be exciting but also very stressful, which can contribute to stress eating, induce teenage-like spots on your skin and lead you to suffer from feeling bloated; all of which could leave you very miserable in your perfect dress on your perfect day. It’s at this point that you pick up the phone to your best friend, asking: "is their a way to shed these extra pounds asap"?
But as always, there is a problem with quick-fix, fad diets: Their effects don’t last! There are just too many examples of brides and grooms who just about manage to get in shape for the wedding, only to pile the pounds back on once the honeymoon's over
There are many ways of shedding a few pounds before your wedding day: go on a starvation diet (but be prepared to feel less than energetic in that heavy dress); pre-packaged ready meals deliverd to your door (but they are just not healthy); counting points, calories and colours (no fun).
You need to take a long-term view
The correct healthy eating plan is one that optimises your metabolism by means of choosing a nutritious balance of protein, complex carbohydrates, essential amino acids and lots of fresh vegetables. It genuinely is the only safe way to:
- Burn fat in place of sugar through optimal metabolism
- Lose a dress or belt size (or two)
- Lose body fat
- Appear fresh and young again
- Get rid of that awful bloated feeling and
- Look fabulous for the rest of your days.
It is critical that you consider the long-term implications here, because the next step for most is family planning which means you need to stay healthy and virile. Making sure that your hormones are balanced, your weight, blood pressure and nutritional status are in tip top condition will present you and your partner the best chances of conceiving.
